EMBRACING THE BLOG
Hi everyone, and welcome to Rock and Roll, Candyland, Boogeyman!
My name is Leora and I'm currently a Grade 11 student at York Mills C.I..
Everyone who knows me knows that my life generally revolves around three simple things: television, movies, and music. I spend hours and hours each day watching my favourite shows, seeing the latest movies, and listening to my iPod.
I am also a self-proclaimed celebrity junkie, with a weakness for reading gossip blogs and watching TMZ. Without my daily dose of Hollywood gossip, I feel disconnected and out of the loop.
I believe what’s most creative about me is my art. I love to draw, and I use art as a creative outlet. I also love to write, so that is another way I express myself creatively.
When I first found out we were making a Media ‘Blog’, I was definitely hesitant. Last semester in Media Studies, my favourite part of the course was creating collages and entries in my sketchbook. Now that Media Studies is over, I love looking back at my log and seeing all the hard work and effort that was put into each entry. I felt as if I wouldn’t be able to add the creativity and originality to my blog, as I was able to with my sketchbook.
Creating a blog was a new experience for me. It showed me that I could be just as creative and artistic on my blog, as I had previously. I have come to terms with parting from my beloved media log, and I am now embracing the future of the blog.
